“The destruction of the city of Lidice by the Nazis commemorated by aritists mainly of the generation 1930-38. In Berlin the works were given to a museum in Lidice.though they disappeared into some warehouse whilst in a mini-van to Prague to be shown to some of the survivors before the exhibition. Russian tanks invaded Prague and in the upheaval they ended up in a warehouse, then were thought lost, and re-found in 1996.”
