On the occasion of his one-person exhibition, the artist has radically transformed the monumental space of the Palais de Tokyo by using his dialogue with architecture as its springboard and conceiving of the exhibition as a medium in its own right. This accompanying publication acts as an extension to the artist s radical examination. It includes an excerpt from Michel Serres seminal text, Le parasite (1980), and an interview with Serres by Hans Ulrich Obrist, an extensive conversation with curator Carlos Basualdo, who collaborated with Parreno on the 2013 exhibition Dancing around the Bride: Cage, Cunningham, Johns, Rauschenberg and Duchamp at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, an introduction by Palais de Tokyo director Jean de Loisy, and an essay by Mouna Mekouar, the curator of the exhibition, as well as a visual essay of 104 images by by Darius Khondji, who has followed the script of the exhibition and recreated the journey for the reader.
