Chelsea Bird (1970) was the title of the 10 minute follow up to Fred Marshall’s lost ‘erotic poperetta’ feature film Popdown (1967). According to the British Film Institute’s synopsis of Chelsea Bird: ‘A pretty young female model strolls through the make-believe world of photographers and fashion models in its melange of images and moods set to music.’ The principal photographer was Frank Habicht who worked as a stills photographer in the mid to late 1960s for film directors including Bryan Forbes, Roman Polanski and Jules Dassin, he is probably best known for his book Young London Permissive Paradise (1969).
