As Time Goes By – Portraits 1982 / 1988 / 1997

1982, 1988, 1997: six years, nine years, and fifteen years lie between these three dates. The cold war is over, the iron curtain has dropped, governments have been replaced, new governments are in power, globalisation dominates the planet, neoliberalism is spreading, and private worlds are becoming ever more public. But, in the meantime, women have given birth, people have lived and died, loved and hated, married and divorced, made friends and lost them.
