Artist book and catalogue following Shannon Ebner s solo exhibition at ICA Miami, comprising photography, sculpture, installation and video. As the title suggests, the works in A Public Character implicate the role of the artist, with particular mind to her identity in a mediated sphere. The book is designed by Julia Born and contains collaborations with graphic designers David Reinfurt (A HUDSON YARD) and Mark Owens. The works demonstrate the artist s efforts to build a catalogue of typographical imagery, and reflect on the unstable nature of such an archive.
