Walter Pfeiffer can be labelled as “legendary”, even though he’s a living artist. Since his beginnings as a photographer and filmmaker in Zurich in the 70ties, he made his way internationally, be it fashion photography for his friend Manolo Blahnik, be it a major feature in Art Forum in 2003, be it his photographs in Sir Elton John’s collection. Pfeiffer’s glamourous, joyful style, his sense for beauty and aesthetics have influenced Juergen Teller and many other big names in photography. “Cherchez la femme” contains 68 photographs of women, nearly all of them unpublished, and also a new facette in Pfeiffer’s work so far. His 2001 book at Edition Patrick Frey “Welcome Aboard” was a big success.
