Product Description
Even before the emergence of the Internet, art was routed across the globe via postal and telecommunications systems. All of the work in the exhibition Networking was transformed through acts of posting, faxing, writing, copying, and electronically transmitting. For it’s central essay, the catalog features a “Correspondence Piece” by curator Andrew Patrizio and former Director of the Library, Museum of Modern Art, Clive Phillpot. It is illustrated with images from the exhibition and followed by a page of references for further study. Artists in the exhibition include Eugenio Dittborn, David Hockney, Ray Johnson, Mike Kelley, The Crackerjack Kid, Roger Ackling, Clemente Padin, Miran Fukuda, Cildo Meireles, Jessica Voorsanger and Robert Watts. Published on the occasion of the exhibition from Spacex Gallery, Essex 15 February-23 March 1997.
