Giovanni Anselmo

Emerging out of the Arte Povera movement of the late 1960s and 1970s, Giovanni Anselmo has stood the test of time, and his sculptural work has pushed the boundaries of art for more than three decades. Anselmo creates sculpture using a diverse array of materials: stone, wood, earth, cotton, and even lettuce, as well as installations using slide projections. His work deals with resolving the tensions between concepts such as the particular and the infinite, or nature and art, and it does so with a remarkable combination of force and delicacy.
