Nobuyoshi Araki – Ararchy Photobook Mania

Famed photographer Nobuyoshi Araki is considered one of the most prolific artists in Japan. This is the catalogue for the ‘Nobuyoshi Araki Photobook Exhibition: Ararchy’, which opened at the Izu Photo Museum in the spring of 2012. The exhibition gathered the more than 450 books Araki has produced to date, from rare early series to images made in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake. Besides a comprehensive index of the books exhibited and numerous images, it also includes texts by 24 contributors, among them Robert Frank, Ko Machida, Yayoi Kusama, Rem Koolhaas, Takuma Nakahira, Yoshikazu Ebisu, Mariko Asabuki, and Yutaka Takanashi.
